What Level of Play is My Child?

Basic Age Group: 

Brief Discription: 

 T-Ball

 4 to 7

This level is for your beginners who have never played baseball before and are just getting used to the mitt and ball!  They will bat from a T that is adjustable to your childs height.  Keep in mind that in T-Ball, there are no strike outs or walks and everyone gets to bat.  About mid-season some coaches will change to introduce players to coach pitch so the children can start seeing pitches.

A 6 to 8We use a pitching machine that allows your child some structure in the ball will come over the plate at the same speed in the same place each time.  Single A is for those children that have played a minimum of one year at the T-Ball level or are 8 years old as of April 30th.
AA 7 to 9Double A is where we really start to develop the skills of pitchers in that this is a player pitch level.  Children will pitch in every game and continue to learn the fundamentals. 

AAA

 9 to 12Now we're into the heart of baseball and it's time to really play ball!  At this level of play, players must evaluate and will be placed in the draft.  Teams are made up of the drafter players and teams play other teams within our district.  The minimum age to be eligible for the evaluation and draft process is 9 years of age according to the April 30th date set by Little League.

Majors

10 to 12This is a level of play for the seasoned veterans, so to speak.  The children playing at this level know their fundamentals and are working to perfect their skills.  The players are also evaluated and drafted into teams to compete playing against other Majors teams in the district.  Players can no older than 12 years of age by April 30th date set by Little League.  Players, ages 11 and 12 at this level of play are now ready to compete to play in the Little League World Series tournaments!
Juniors13 to 14Were established as a transitional teams to link Little League and Senor League divisions along with offering a full baseball season of play, tournament play to include the World Series tournament.  Juniors must go through an evaluation process but it will differ a bit from that of the 9 - 12 year olds.

 Evaluations will include:

  • Batting/Bunting
  • Fielding Fly Balls
  • Fielding Ground Balls
  • Throwing and Running
